"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly book meme hosted by Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Title: SIlver in the Blood
Author: Jessica Day George
Genre: YA, Fantasy, Paranormal
Publisher: Bloomsbury USA Chrildrens
Release Date: July 7, 2015
Pages: 358
Society girls from New York City circa 1890, Dacia and Lou never desired to know more about their lineage, instead preferring to gossip about the mysterious Romanian family that they barely knew. But upon turning seventeen, the girls must return to their homeland to meet their relatives, find proper husbands, and—most terrifyingly—learn the deep family secrets of The Claw, The Wing, and The Smoke. The Florescus, after all, are shape-shifters, and it is time for Dacia and Lou to fulfill the prophecy that demands their acceptance of this fate . . . or fight against this cruel inheritance with all their might.

With a gorgeous Romanian setting, stunning Parisian gowns, and dark brooding young men, readers will be swept up by this epic adventure of two girls in a battle for their lives

Why I'm Waiting

That cover! I mean look at that gorgeous, mysterious, fairytale charmer. It suckered me in at first sight. And then I read the synopsis and SHAPE SHIFTERS! That is one of the magic words to get a book to magically appear in my TBR pile. Plus historical settings of New York City and Romania sound so amazing. I am psyched to read this book.

Are you curious about reading Silver in the Blood? What book are you waiting on this week?

  2. I love that whimsical cover. Illustrated covers really made a comeback this year and I am so happy about that! The place and time setting is definitely something that draws me to this one, too. That whole last sentence of the synopsis pretty much seals the deal for me!
